The Fixed Firefighting Equipment Inspection Annual is required under the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) regulations. SOLAS is a set of international regulations that ensure the safety of ships and their crew, and it is applicable to all ships engaged in international voyages.
VNS – Vietnam Ship Services Company that has been formally approved can inspect and issue certificates to the vessel if all equipment is deemed to be in compliance with the regulations. This certificate is required for the vessel to be allowed to operate.

During the Annual FFE Inspection, our professional surveyors inspect all fixed fire fighting equipment on board. This includes, but is not limited to, the following devices:
– Fire detection systems: Fire detection systems are designed to detect the presence of fire and alert the crew (smoke detectors, heat detectors, flame detectors).
– Fire extinguishing systems: Fire extinguishing systems are designed to extinguish fires and prevent them from spreading (CO2 systems, foam systems, dry powder systems).
– Fire alarms: Fire alarms are used to alert the crew in case of a fire (manual call points, audible alarms, visual alarms).
– Firefighting equipment: Firefighting equipment includes all the tools and equipment used by the crew to fight fires (fire hoses, nozzles, pumps, portable extinguishers).
